Purchase tickets from 11AM-2PM everyday (except Wednesday, which will be from 11AM-1PM) this week at our table located on Upper Sproul. Tickets are $8 presale and $12 at the door. FAST has partnered with our publications sister, BARE Magazine, to hold a "Meet the Designers" night. The event will be pre-show fundraiser that celebrates the launch of our fall fashion show, MUSE: You Art What You Wear. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with our fall designers and enter raffles to win MUSE tickets, gift certificates, and more. Donations would be greatly appreciated, but there is no required entrance fee. No interested attendees will be turned away. Posted Tuesday, November 17, 2009 AAU Speaker Tuesday, 11/3 @ 7PM in 103 Wheeler; TICKETS ON SALE 11/9; Sewing Workshop Tuesday, 11/10 A FAST-exclusive event will be held this Tuesday! We will be graced by SF Academy of Art University outreach representative Stephanie Johnson, who will give career tips for those interested in entering the fashion industry. She'll also include information on available AAU programs that can assist anyone pursuing these fashion careers. Tickets to MUSE: You Art What You Wear are going to be sold starting next week! You can purchase tickets through any E-Board member or head to our table located on Upper Sproul beginning Monday, 11/9 through Friday, 11/20. We will generally table everyday throughout those 2 weeks from 11AM-2PM. Tickets are $8 presale and $12 at the door. Next week, FAST will welcome a very dear former FAST-alum designer Stephanie Yeung, who is going to give a sewing workshop. Our lovely Special Events Coordinator and student designer, Jenny Zhou, will give everyone tips on how to bring their design ideas to life on paper. Prospective 2010 student designers are encouraged and welcome! We are still in the process of organizing sketching/sewing workshops for future meetings, so look out for those soon! In other news, FAST will hold its fall Model Casting Session this Sunday, 10/11. Time slots will be assigned to interested models through email. If you still want to model, it's not too late -- just email calfastmodels@gmail.com with your name, height, and pictures of yourself. Please note that females must be 5'7" without heels and males must be 5'10". If you happen to be unavailable for this meeting but are interested in helping out in FAST this fall semester, check out the Get Involved! section. Also, the theme of fall 2009's fashion show is art-inspired. Designers will need to create a minimum of 3 outfits inspired by any artist, artwork, art era (e.g. impressionism, pop art, romanticism, etc), or sculpture and show their sketches to Terra at one of our meetings or through email at calfastdesigners@gmail.com.
